We are delighted to celebrate the return of a local favourite. For the sixth year running, the William Morris Gallery has partnered with our neighbours at Pillars Brewery to bring you a limited-edition beer that tastes as good as it looks.
Partnerships play a vital role in helping us preserve our world-class collection and share Morris’s legacy with new audiences. Through carefully chosen collaborations, our archive designs are brought to life in beautifully crafted pieces for contemporary living—or, in this case, a contemporary pour.
This year’s release is a beautifully crafted Vienna Lager (4.9%), now available to order directly through the Pillars Brewery website.
For this small-batch release, we have selected the timeless Honeysuckle design, created by May Morris in 1883. While her father William is a household name, May was a formidable designer and craftswoman in her own right. Her Honeysuckle pattern is admired for its flowing natural forms and intricate botanical detail—a perfect reflection of the skill and tradition shared between fine design and master brewing.

This isn't your average lager. It is a dry, fruity, and wonderfully drinkable brew that bridges the gap between British and German tradition. A blend of toasted Vienna, Munich, and Melanoidin malts provides a warm, bread-crust character. Expect vibrant citrus and fresh herbal aromas balanced by a steady, malty depth. A curated mix of British and German hops.

At the Gallery, we believe that art and craft should be accessible to everyone. This collaboration helps make that possible. 50% of all proceeds from this beer are donated directly to the William Morris Gallery.
These funds go straight toward our vital conservation work and our community education programmes, ensuring that the Morris legacy continues to inspire future generations of makers.
You can purchase the May Morris Honeysuckle Vienna Lager online now via the Pillars Brewery website.
This is a limited small-batch release. Historically, the WMG x Pillars collaboration sells out quickly!
Whether you’re a craft beer aficionado or a textile enthusiast, it’s the perfect way to support local heritage.
