Celebrate the stories of protest, community action and social change at the heart of Earthly Paradise: Radical Living in the UK through this exclusive collection of embroidered patches & bag charm/key chain, created to accompany the exhibition at William Morris Gallery.

Inspired by the post-1945 section of the exhibition, curated by Linsey Young, these bold embroidered designs explore the housing campaigns, social movements and grassroots activism that have shaped Britain in the decades since the Second World War. Reflecting themes of collective action, alternative ways of living and the fight for social justice, the collection celebrates the individuals and communities who challenged inequality and campaigned for change.

Featuring slogans and imagery inspired by both historic and contemporary activism, the patches capture the spirit of protest explored throughout the exhibition, from housing rights campaigns to community organising and feminist activism. Perfect for customising jackets, bags, hats and other textiles, they offer a creative way to wear and share messages of solidarity, resistance and social change.

Designed and made in the UK, these embroidered patches are ideal for visitors interested in social history, activism, contemporary politics and independent design. Affordable and versatile, they make distinctive exhibition souvenirs and thoughtful gifts.

Every purchase directly supports William Morris Gallery, helping to fund vital conservation work, world-class exhibitions and community education programmes.

About the Exhibition

Earthly Paradise: Radical Living in the UK explores the people and places that have shaped art and activism across Britain over the last 200 years. Through art, photography, design, sound and archival material, the exhibition highlights individuals and communities who challenged social norms and created new visions of society. Bringing together works from collections across the UK, Earthly Paradise examines how creativity, activism and the idea of home have inspired social change.
