Sarouk is a village located 30 miles north of the city of Sultanabad where the rugs woven in the surrounding villages were collected. A tell tale sign of a Sarouk is usually its blue weft threads, salmon or tomato-red color mixed with ivory and blues, and a very traditional, floral style like the flowers in this rug, designed as repeated floral -cone motifs arranged in groups to create an expanding central medallion.

About Hakieme Rug Gallery

Said Nasim Hakiemie has spent more than 30 years immersed in the world of antique oriental carpets, having begun working as a restorer as a young child growing up in Iran.

Working as a dealer in the Netherlands for 10 years before moving to London in 2012, Nasim developed many long-established international contacts and he now travels frequently around Europe sourcing pieces from high end collectibles to tribal and contemporary rugs.

Nasim has an exceptional eye and a wealth of knowledge about both antique and contemporary rugs and carpets and works hard to offer beautiful pieces of high quality to his clients. He also offers a full range of services to his clients, which includes professional cleaning and restoration.

Nasim now works from his new showroom in Weybridge, where he welcomes private clients as well as collectors, dealers and those working in the design and interiors industry to come and view his vast collection.
