Rory Hutton Earthly Paradise Set of 8 Postcards

£6.50 GBP
£6.50 GBP

Discover the stories, people and places at the heart of Earthly Paradise: Radical Living in the UK, through this exclusive set of illustrated postcards, specially commissioned by William Morris Gallery and created by Cambridge-based artist and historian Rory Hutton.

Featuring eight distinctive lino-cut designs, the collection celebrates some of the remarkable homes, communities and individuals explored within the exhibition. Drawing on his interest in social history, material culture and traditional printmaking, Rory Hutton creates bold, characterful artworks that bring historic stories to life through carefully chosen objects, symbols and quotations.

Inspired by an exhibition that explores 200 years of artists, activists and communities who challenged convention and imagined new ways of living, each postcard reflects a different aspect of radical domestic history. The designs combine visual storytelling with themes of creativity, identity, craftsmanship and alternative ways of living, making this collection a thoughtful souvenir of the exhibition or a unique set for collectors of contemporary printmaking.

The eight lino-cut designs featured in the collection are inspired by:

  • The Ladies of Llangollen and William Wordsworth's "Sisters in Love" poem
  • Red House and a quote by William Morris
  • Oscar Wilde and his famous Blue China quote
  • Charleston
  • The Guild of Handicraft
  • Benton End

Designed exclusively for Earthly Paradise: Radical Living in the UK, these postcards celebrate the enduring influence of the people and places that have shaped ideas of home, creativity and social change across Britain.

Every purchase directly supports William Morris Gallery, helping to fund vital conservation work, world-class exhibitions and community education programmes.
