Scent

New and exclusive to the William Morris Gallery are three new bespoke scents developed by master fragrance developer Samantha Jameson of Soapsmith. Taking inspiration from the man, house & gardens, each hand-made soap is lovingly poured, cut, stamped and wrapped in Walthamstow.

The fragrances named ‘Lloyd Park, Williams Workshop and Ink Impressions have been designed using the finest oils.  Frankincense, element & bergamot, together with notes of  violet & rose take you on a journey around William’s workshop, evoking the scents of the print workshop where some of William Morris’ greatest designs will have been manufactured.

Iris, violet and grapefruit transports you into the fresh garden walks of Lloyd Park where William Morris called home as a child. 

Made in Walthamstow, using traditional cold process methods, these bar soaps are made with quality natural shea and coconut butters for a rich, indulgent lather.

Forming part of our Legacy Collection, where rare objects and designs from the gallery’s archive are skillfully recontextualized with a contemporary lens in small numbers by modern British artisans celebrate great British making and artisan craft. 

Every purchase directly supports the maker & the traditional practice of art and crafts within the UK, alongside supporting William Morris Gallery’s work, helping to fund our education initiatives, conservation efforts and world-class exhibitions.
