About the artist.

Christine Binnie is a ceramicist and performance artist, best known for her activity as a founding member of the Neo Naturists group. Together with Jennifer Binnie and Wilma Johnson, Christine Binnie formed the collective in London in 1981, and created performances and appearances using body painting, found objects, art works and domestic items to create colourful subversive performance pieces staged in nightclubs and galleries. The group still perform together occasionally, and Binnie’s ceramic works explore many of the same themes as the Neo Naturists’ performances, challenging current social and political narratives.
