This paper kit will let you make your own miniature version of the Sussex armchair by Morris & co, c.1860.
Scaled down to 1:16 of the chair's original size, the pop-out pieces of the kit are laser-cut and ready to assemble. The kit includes instructions, an information leaflet on the original chair design, and a paper interior scene to stand your chair in.
Whether you make a miniature soft sculpture to hang on your tiny William Morris chair, or just enjoy the chair and diorama, get some paper glue and you’ll be ready to recreate a landmark moment in furniture design history, in miniature.
Designed by Tomoko Azumi and her East London-based TNA Design Studio, the One to Sixteen collection of tiny paper chairs came by blending Azumi’s enthusiasm for diorama and furniture design. All the chairs in the One to Sixteen series represent key moments in interior design history, and at 1:16 scale in paper, can be created and enjoyed by anyone. They’re manufactured by Fukunaga Shiko, a paper manufacturer and printer based in Japan, whose mission is to promote ‘the joy of paper’ through high quality, design oriented paper products.
