shamoji is a large, flat paddle used to smoothly scoop rice from a cooker or bowl, or to gently stir vinegar into the rice. This everyday kitchen item can also be offered as a symbolic emblem for scooping up less tangible things, such as victory or success. This shamoji is made from hinoki – Japanese cypress – which is known for having a high oil content containing antibacterial qualities, as well as its quick-dry ability and its light, citrusy scent. This lightweight, wooden tool is designed for its comfortable, hand-fitting shape and long-lasting use.

Size: W7.5cm x L21cm x H1.2cm

Material Kiso Hinoki
